first_imgThe Mets could be considering signing one of the top free agents left on the market.New York continues to check in on starter Dallas Keuchel and reliever Craig Kimbrel, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources. The team does not want “to be caught unaware if an opportunity arises,” the report says. Meanwhile, Kimbrel recorded 42 saves and a 2.74 ERA in 63 appearances for the Red Sox last season.The seven-time All-Star has also been linked to Milwaukee and the Braves. Keuchel registered a 12-11 record and a 3.74 ERA in 34 starts with the Astros last season.
