first_imgWidespread Panic had some fun at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, NC last night, playing a cover-heavy set to fans along what has been an exceptional fall tour. Whether it was the tour’s six-show no-repeats streak or its run with Umphreys McGee, WSP has been putting on fiery shows with each and every opportunity.Last night was no exception, as the band decided to play pairs of covers by a number of favorite artists. The band started with a two song run of Van Morrison tunes in “And It Stoned Me” and “Send Your Mind.” The first set also concluded with two songs by Warren Zevon, including “Werewolves of London” and “Lawyers, Guns & Money.”Towards the end of the second set, the band once again reached into their arsenal of covers and pulled out “Maggot Brain” by Funkadelic. After playing “Imitation Leather Shoes,” the band steered into yet another Funkadelic tune in “Red Hot Mama” to close out the second set. It was ZZ Top who got the curtain call, as WSP played “Waiting For The Bus” and “Jesus Just Left Chicago” to close out the night! You can hear the full audio recording from the show, courtesy of Chris from Jam Buzz, streaming below.Check out the full setlist, below, as well as a full gallery of images by Ellison White Photography.
